They suggest that these spammers are forging there IP's, since they are not listed in our address list and our server is allowing this. Sorry I'm such a novice but is this possible and if so how would we guard against this? Wouldn't the server be able to tell that this was forged??
your edge packet filter should:
block in all on outside_interface from my_addreses to my_addresses
This will kill external Internet machines spoofing your internal addresses. This has nothing to do with Imail. It is just standard firewall practice.
