We have one company, our auditors (KPMG), who is unable to send us email. They can send mail to other domains. Our server, named mail.eastgroup.net, is an Imail version 6. They receive the following message from their mail server: "Deferred: Connection reset by mail.eastgroup.net. Warning: message still undelivered after 12 hours Will keep trying until message is 3 days old" Why is my server resetting their connection? Why would I have a problem with one particular domain? I have checked the system log and I don't see any incoming (SMTPD) entries from kpmg.com. Is there another log I need to be checking? Or is there a service I need to be logging that I'm not?
I would say there is about a 90% chance that the problem is that you have their IP address blocked in the IMail SMTP Control Access file. If that is the case, they would see the "Connection reset" message, and you would not see "kpmg" in the IMail SMTP log file.
In any case, I would search the IMail SMTP log file for the IP address of their mailserver, if you know its IP.
