MS updated the bulletin a day or two after the initial release, stating that
all MS Win 2000 machines should be patched, regardless of whether IIS is
being used, as the vulnerability is in the underlying O/s.

Please provide a URL. The URL provided ( http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-007.asp ) mentions that it affects the Windows 2000 OS, but states specifically that it only affects servers running IIS.


It would be nearly impossible for a WEBDAV issue to affect Windows 2000 machines not running IIS, so a URL confirming this is very important.
