Although this is a critical update for Windows 2000 servers that have IIS running, this should only affect servers running IIS. If that is *not* the case, please do point where this can be verified, as that would be much worse than what was previously discovered.

http://www.ntbugtraq.com/default.asp?sid=1&pid=47&aid=74 is a nasty article (albeit authoritative) that implies that the WEBDAV issue may affect other "vectors", without specifying what they are.

So the paranoid (which we all should be) should assume the worst, and that they should upgrade, even if they don't have IIS.

Yet the non-paranoid conspiracy theorists can assume that that web page is FUD, as it makes a wild claim (IE if you are not running IIS, but have an SMTP open, they think your server is vulnerable, but that seems extremely unlikely).
