Every email not originating from my server is being marked by declude as
spam. Did any of the rest of you run into this? I'm running the
default configuration.

The default configuration simply adds a standard X-RBL-Warning: header to every E-mail that fails *any* spam test. That's because no mail clients seem to block E-mail based on the X-RBL-Warning: headers, and we have to have a default configuration that allows all E-mail through. Some spam tests (such as the REVDNS test) will catch a lot of legitimate E-mail; that is by design.

What we typically recommend to our customers is to keep the warnings in the headers for all tests, but to change the WEIGHT20 test to use the HOLD action. This will block all E-mail with a weight of 20 or higher, which should catch most spam, while only blocking legitimate E-mail from the most poorly designed mailservers (typically open relays that spammers are abusing, in which case much of their outgoing mail will be delayed or lost anyways).

Anyone have well-tuned config files that they want to share?

If you're looking for fine-tuning that goes beyond the weighting system, you may want to check out the Declude JunkMail mailing list. To subscribe, just send an E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "subscribe declude.junkmail your name" in the body.

Also, the docs say I can do a whitelist for a user "WHITELIST TO
[EMAIL PROTECTED]" but that doesn't seem to work. I have 2 email lists I
subscribe to and no matter how I whitelist them they still get marked as
spam.

This is best asked on the Declude JunkMail mailing list. But, this one actually is slightly on-topic for the IMail Forum. Both IMail's Kill List and Declude JunkMail's whitelists and blacklists are based on the return address of the E-mail, which is occasionally different from the other addresses you may see (such as the From: or Reply-To: addresses). To find this, you can either look at the X-Declude-Sender: header in the E-mail headers, or look at the IMail SMTP log file for the "RCPT TO:" line.
