It's fixed now. Seems to be a bug in IMAIL 8.0.
My SMTP32 exe was called SMTP32MW.exe, IMail was matching the SMTP32 part of the program name and mistakenly believing that it was pointing to its own smtp exe. This happens no matter where the executable is placed. I renamed it and it all works sweet now.
