My worst fears have come true - Windows 2000 SP4 includes Microsoft hotfix Q328310. Installing SP4 causes the administrator window problem seen here:

I am running V6 IMail. It is stable and perfect for our needs. I am loathe to spend money to "upgrade" to a newer version of IMail simply because of an incompatibility between their software and a Microsoft "fix".

Looking at the hotfix, I don't see any single file which could be reverted to after the application of SP4 to keep IMail working properly. Q328310 has no importance to us, and we are happy to run without it.

Anyone have any ideas? Or are we roped into a corner to force us to upgrade?
