At the same time I don't want to notify the spammer that his emails are
being rejected

Forget about the spammers, there are 1000's of them. Your chances are almost nil of communicating any "message" to him, and even smaller of having any effect on him.


Just defend your server and don't look back. The spammers you haven't blocked yet on the road ahead.
