We just purchased IMail server v8.0 (after a month of testing) and I am quite pleased with it (switching from the ancient Qualcomm's Worldmail server with no support and upgrades)

Out of 80 users 60 of them are on Netscape/Mozilla email client and 20 of them are using Eudora Pro 5.2 (I am phasing out Netscape and Mozilla and switching to Eudora).

The most important advantage of Eudora for us is that

a) the received file attachments get separated in a physical folder on your drive c: (configurable location) therefore even if a user never deletes any messages for 10 years, the size of his/her email folder will be still way below 50MB (without the folder of attachments)

b)
It is NOT Outlook or Outlook Express that 98% of viruses and spywares are written for all over the world, therefore the chances for a major disaster LAN-wise are significantly less.

There are other advantages too, but I don't want to list them all here.

BUT, some of our employees are missing the calendar, tasks and scheduling capabilities of Outlook when it's used with MS Exchange server. (They just simply can not comprehend that Outlook without Exchange server would not give them what they wish for.)

According to our budget, we don't have the resources for the hardware and software that MS Exchange would require for close to 100 users with IMAP4 (this is why I picked IMail server from several other alternatives.)

But our employees do really need a solution, that would provide them with shareable calendar (even better: shareable task with timelines), that would allow them to setup meetings by simply choosing a time window where everybody is free (without asking for this info in person or through email.

Does someone know of such solution for a reasonable cost? (the cost of an Exchange server that I consider unreasonable for our firm.:)
