Is anyone still having problems with aol? I just replied to an email sent to me, from a friend of mine who has an aol account, and the reply bounced.
??? A while ago it was a reverse lookup delegation problem, that was resolved... I looked up on the archive and saw your posting: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- Re: [IMail Forum] BT and AOL Problem - stalemate ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- From: R. Scott Perry Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] BT and AOL Problem - stalemate Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2003 07:58:51 -0700 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- I will approach BT and see if they will relay outgoing mail from our server, without the need to change our domain address information. They should be able to without any problem. The real problem, though, is that you'll have to rely on BT for mail delivery. You no longer have the luxury of determining what happened to lost mail, without dealing with BT. FWIW, we're strongly considering adding a web page that includes all known information on AOL's anti-spam policies (both the publicized ones and the non-publicized ones). It seems that they are now blocking one of our IPs, and not even accepting the connection. -Scott ------------------------------------------------------------ Did that web page that includes all known info on aol's anti-spam policies get put up? Is there a new policy in effect? Or just everyone is collateral damage? ------------------------------------------------------------- here is the log: ------------------------------------------------------------- 20030726 090521 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00050228) [209.55.118.2] connect 24.50.193.222 port 18291 20030726 090522 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00050228) [24.50.193.222] EHLO pc 20030726 090522 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00000538) Authenticated [EMAIL PROTECTED], session treated as local. 20030726 090522 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00050228) [24.50.193.222] MAIL FROM: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 20030726 090522 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00050228) [24.50.193.222] RCPT TO: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 20030726 090524 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00050228) [24.50.193.222] d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Da6c200050228ea73.SMD 1401 20030726 090532 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (00060228) [209.55.118.2] connect 209.55.118.2 port 1033 20030726 090535 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) processing d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Qa6c200050228ea73.SMD 20030726 090535 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) Trying aol.com (0) 20030726 090535 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) Connect aol.com [64.12.136.217:25] (1) 20030726 090616 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) 20030726 090616 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) SMTP_DELIV_FAILED 20030726 090616 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) >QUIT 20030726 090616 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) 20030726 090616 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) requeuing d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Qa6c200050228ea73.SMD R0 T1 20030726 090616 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0570033F) finished d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Qa6c200050228ea73.SMD status=3 20030726 090618 127.0.0.1 SMTP (00000000) Info - Queue manager starting Queue run 100 20030726 090618 127.0.0.1 SMTP (05700340) processing d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\QHE0570030c3cb6.VAC 20030726 090618 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) processing d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Qa6c200050228ea73.SMD 20030726 090618 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) Trying aol.com (0) 20030726 090619 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) Connect aol.com [64.12.136.217:25] (1) 20030726 090628 127.0.0.1 SMTP (00000000) Info - Queue manager starting Queue run 101 20030726 090633 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (000A0228) [209.55.118.2] connect 209.55.118.2 port 1059 20030726 090700 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) 20030726 090700 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) SMTP_DELIV_FAILED 20030726 090700 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) >QUIT 20030726 090700 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) 20030726 090700 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) requeuing d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Qa6c200050228ea73.SMD R0 T2 20030726 090700 127.0.0.1 SMTP (0574003F) finished d:\IMAIL\LOGS\spool\Qa6c200050228ea73.SMD status=3 20030726 090733 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (000D0246) [209.55.118.2] connect 209.55.118.2 port 1068 20030726 090833 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (000F0256) [209.55.118.2] connect 209.55.118.2 port 1071 --------------------------------------------- J.J.
