Thanks Terry, That seems to be a good way of doing it. My only question is can you configure the first SMTP server to listen on a port such as 4000 but then deliver to the second SMTP server on port 25 - I guess it is a case of play with it and see.

If you only require SMTP you could consider MS SMTP server which is freely distributed with IIS. Many list members have done this. If you need a fully functional mail server you could install XMAIL http://www.xmailserver.org/ I'm pretty certain IMAIL continues to use all IP's so the other would have to be bound to a different port.
