I traced them through the Imail SMTP log and didn't see any errors or
anything with them.  Any other advice?

What I would do is look for a file in the \IMail\spool\overflow that is old (the oldest one you can find, preferably), and track that through the log files. The most important thing you'll want to look for is the times of the log file entries, which should help pinpoint where the delay is occurring.
