This is not something that was changed in V8. Your logs shows that a connection was made to their mailserver (smtp1.saksinc.com)
Then why not log completley the domain name that corresponds to the owner of the logged IP? Why cut off the label of "smpt1"?
10:13 10:21 SMTP-(000009B8) Connect saksinc.com [65.243.45.10:25] (1)
saksinc is the @recipient.domain, 65.243.45.10 is IP of the MX hostname for @saksinc.com.
