The messages that contain the "user mailbox exceeds" line are bounce messages sent back to the original sender telling him that the mail could not be delivered.  These bounce messages have a null sender.

But its not a null sender?  Its an actual spoofed address that a spammer used?

In the SMTP settings tab in IAdmin there is a setting for null sender maximum tries.  This controls how many tries error messages will be attempted.  Restart the queue manager after changing this setting.

Subject: [IMail Forum] User mailbox exceeds....

Hello,

I am running Imail 8.03 with about 12,000 users.  The problem is that my spool currently has 1800 messages in it, but 1003 of them are messages that read User mailbox exceeds allowed.  My understanding is that these will never get delivered because most of them are to spammers.  Is there something I can do about these so that they are deleted more often?  Any help would be appreciated.

Chad
