I have been running Imail since version 3 (1996). Our first line of Spam defense is IMGate (1999?). We then added Declude Virus (2001) and was so impressed we added Declude Junkmail. We now have 2 IMGate boxes set up as MX10 and MX20 and they pass to the Imail server (Windows 2k). Since we are a small ISP, we have to let more email past IMGate than I would like for the idiots, I mean users, that actually LIKE the spamEzines and so on. We then take great advantage of Decludes weighting capabilities and this works very well coupled with Sniffer as a weighted test. It is a never ending battle to keep up with the latest techniques of Spammers. I am now seeing Spam that passes all tests! RDNS and so on. Very aggravating to say the least. We are still using Imail 7.15. Version 8 has not enticed us yet to upgrade and I have not heard one person on this list say they were happy with Imail 8's anti spam features. The rules have been there for a long time and most people using them find they work quite well. I find them to cumbersome to work with personally. Yes, I would agree you wasted $1500 if that is what you paid for the Ipswitch seminar. You would have been better off taking Len's DNS class through Men and Mice! One of the best $ I ever spent on a class. But sit back, take a deep breath and pay attention to this list. There is some of the best help on the internet here once you get past the flames and ego's. Imail has been one of the most STABLE programs I have ever used. Even I have my complaints, but stability and ease of use are not on the list...
