I'm using Express 8.0x, and maybe I've screwed up the settings somehow. Some mail is coming in, checked against a RBL, then deleted. Not filed (as I understand the default) in a /spam folder, no message sent to root, just deleted.
Actually, I think you're thinking of Declude JunkMail, which uses the \IMail\spool\spam directory for storing spam. IMail v8's anti-spam doesn't have a similar action (AFAIK). The default in IMail was to move to the "root" account (now it defaults to not using spam control).
I've noticed the microsoft.com domain is RBL'd, but that doesn't explain why others, like the mail from the kreatec.com domain was killed.
Nor does it explain why the microsoft.com E-mail disappeared! http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=131.107.3.116 shows that the IP that the Microsoft E-mail came from is only in the NOMOREFUNN blacklist, which is rarely used.
I've whitelisted redmond.corp.microsoft.com and kreatec.com, and disabled RBL checking temporarily, but I'd like to figure out an answer, and I can't find it in the KB.
I'm a small, 2 person consulting business, and the $250 that Ipswitch wants to answer this question is expensive. I'll pay it if I have to, but if someone could even point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
I can't explain why the E-mail wasn't delivered, but there's a good chance someone else will (the key here is that there is a "performing antispam checks" line in the log file, with no subsequent lines using the same ID).
The one thing that does stick out is the "error 2 executing "C:\IMail\imailsrv" -q x" line -- do you have a file \IMail\imailsrv.exe? You should have that file. That shouldn't pose any problems here (it is used for mailing lists), but if that file is missing, there could be other important files missing.
