This list loves the declude anti-spam solution as your answer...

With that said, we did not want to spend the extra dollars just yet on
that solution. We set the system to add spam headers and then monitored
the system to see which spam headers produced the most false positives.
We also monitored to see what rules *never* seemed to produce false
positives. We also have many virtual domains which limit Imail's ability
to set different spam options for those.

The solution we finally offered to our customers was a choice of:

1. no server level blocking - just add spam header and they can filter
if they want.
2. Domain level rules to bounce spam based on headers headers
3. Domain level rules to move spam to a folder or mailbox.

On options #2 and #3 we usually only block based on certain spam rules
which we determined were producing a very low occurrence of false
positives. This seems to have kept our varied customer's happy... It is
not blocking everything, but the false positive rate is kept low. This
may not be your answer, but for now it is working for us.

It seems the ideal solution would be to weight the various spam checks
and use a combination of factors to classify the spam as spam and almost
eliminate false positives. Imail by itself does not do that - Declude
does... If budget allows we may join the majority of this list in using
Declude.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Spam Problems

I have a Imail 8.03 and many many domains on 2 servers. I updated my
Spam with the new zip file that ipswitch gives out. I now get too many
false positives, and was told to shut off Spam filtering.

I need some suggestions on how to get this working properly, because
with Spam filtering I seem to be making NO ONE happy. We had it set to
move all Spam with xheaders marked x-imail-Spam going to spambox, but
that dropped too many false positives, and pissed off customers that
want to use outlook and not have to check a Spam box daily.

Help.
