David, I do not want to get in an argument, but your first response was that Relay for Addresses was the "ONLY" safe setting. That is absolutely false and misleading.
Relay for Addresses is "needed" at many scenarios, but should only be used when NEEDED. Each scenario is different. Some software when sending e-mail does not have the ability to authenticate and so forth. It is a business decision to use Relay for Addresses, not a requirement. Forcing users to authenticate with the no relay is the best safe setting there is. If you have to use relay for addresses, then you have to.
