We have 2 users, one Mac one WinXP, who recently upgraded their Eudora clients to the
latest version ; neither can now SMTP authenticate to send emails.

Diagnosing through verbose client logging is that Eudora is trying to authenticate via
CRAM-MD5, and continues to do so even after being instructed to just use plain
password method.

Qualcom tech support is no help; they blame user's TCP/IP then after being proven
wrong on that, they blame the IMail server, sttaing that they are the only client that
correctly performs SMTP authentication and that the saerver is not compliant (they do
not have an answer to the question: why is it that only 2 of 3000 users on other
clients, including older eudora clients, have SMTP auth issues?)

Any known work-arounds with Eudora?

I downloaded v6 for Windows and have the same issue in my testing......

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,

------------
