Ben,

I also have a customer that was using OE with IMAP. This was using a
different mail server than IMail, but I had similar issues with some users.
I had a few users that didn't have issues at all and at home I don't have
any issues with and IMail/OE/IMAP combination. It just seems to be how luck
you are. I have never been able to pin down what causes OE to be funky on
some IMAP systems and work fine on others, or why a particular installation
of OE won't work correctly with any IMAP system.

In the case of this customer, switching them to Outlook solved most of the
problems, but even the Outlook users experience some weird issues
intermittently. In one case, I cannot get Outlook to pull in any of the
existing messages, but it will see messages that have been sent/received
since it was installed. OE for this user works fairly well with IMAP
though.

I don't know if the number of messages has anything to do with it, but the
users that seem to have problems the most are those with many emails sitting
on the server. A couple of users have saved a couple years worth with one
user consuming nearly 2.5 Gig.

I talked to the mail server manufacturer and they will only say that OE is
the problem.

Jeff
