To turn sub mailbox creation off, open Imail administrator, navigate to the
host, on the general tab for that host there is a section for Sub-Mailbox
Creation
Set it to Bounce, this will not deliver the message and bounce it to the
sender

You can also change the Mailbox delimiter, meaning you can tell imail to use
+ (or any other char) instead of - to indicate the mailbox the message is
supposed to go to for that user.

The Mailbox Delimiter is located on SMTP Services Advanced Tab
Just make sure you carefully choose the delimiter so it will not interfere
with any other users account (you would obviously not want to use 'a' as you
new delimiter)

You can also create an inbound rule to delete messages sent to the address

Subject: [IMail Forum] Auto "-folder" creation

Working with a friend's IMail server. He has an address that is getting a
lot of spam to [EMAIL PROTECTED] He has the "auto create
subfolders" turned on and uses it for some specific things. I can't find a
way to turn it OFF for one specific username. It is either globally on or
off.

Is there a way to turn it off for one user or can someone come up with a
processing rule for this username to delete any mail addressed to
username-(anything)@domain.tld? Would it be as simple as saying to delete
any mail that has a "-" in the "To:" header? That wouldn't cover CC; and
BCC: mail though.

Thanks,

G
