I'm using greylisting (<http://projects.puremagic.com/greylisting/>) on my sendmail server and a client using IMail is getting a bounce from the initial tempfail response. Is this normal IMail behavior or a misconfiguration?
I assume by "tempfail" you are referring to a 4xx status code? If that is the case, IMail will re-try the E-mail. It will only bounce the E-mail if the server is set to bounce after the first try (a few people think it's cool to do that, not realizing that it has lots of problems).
Can someone running IMail verify that a message sent to me gets an initial bounce followed by successful delivery? Just put "greylist test" in the subject line so I'll recognize it.
I just sent one, and didn't get a bounce. IMail got the 451 code, and set it aside to be re-tried later.
