Hi all,
I apologize for the non-technical nature of this post but I am doing some
investigative research to propose to my superiors.

I am currently responsible for the administration of a mail server (running Imail).
Unfortunately my primary duties as web/internet
director, administrator, programmer, graphic artist etc.,etc. do not allow me suitable
time to effectively handle the mail server
responsibilities. As such, the mail server has taken a back seat to my other duties,
and is in need of a lot of serious maintenance
and upgrading.

The server handles our (currently) free email service that is offered through our web
site. We have 8000+ accounts (single domain)
at the present time. Of course some are probably abandoned and not in use.

What I would like to propose is that we outsource the email service to someone that
could import our current users and take over the
service for us.

Now for the catch. I am sure I will be asked to make this migration without any, or
minimal, cost to us. That would mean that
whoever was willing to take on the project would have to have some revenue generating
business model that would make it beneficial
to them. Perhaps a system that offers additional mailbox space, added anti-spam
features etc. for upgrading from the free account to
a premium account. Although we'd like to continue to offering free accounts.

If anyone has any interest in something like this or if anyone knows of a company that
could do this please let me know. I can be
contacted off-list at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Again, I apologize for the off-topicness (Is that a word?) of this post.

Thanks,
Perry
