I'm installing IMail for a company that has forever used accounts in the <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] format. Although the docs don't specifically mention using a period in a user name (at least I didn't see it), I did read that an alias name should not use any special characters other than an underscore. Does this apply to user names also?

Usernames can have periods in them. They will not cause any problems.
