Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] SMTP stops working
Is anyone with these problems running their own BIND DNS server ver 9.2
or
higher? This is a shot in the dark.
The reason I ask is this. BIND 9.2.0-9.2.3 (for W32 only) all have TCP
socket connect issues (but worse with 9.2.3). When Imail hits the BIND
DNS
server with queries they are mostly UDP, however, if any other TCP
actions
hit the BIND server (axfr, transfers) it will lock named up and BIND
will
stop responding on TCP - *but* not UDP. Perhaps a crashing DNS server
could
cause SMTP to hang???
Just a guess.
