I have been on our test system, and plan to on our production system. Both
have low # of emails compared to most of the other list members. 200 per
day on test system - winXpPro, 1.6ghz p4 256ram running imail express & assp
& web/ftp server & new version of our database server software. :o) It's
one overworked test-bed but seems to handle it well even though I use it as
my workstation at the same time.

Our production email server only sees about 2500 incoming(50% or more of
this is spam) and 500 out. It's on a 3yr old dual 700mhz Zeon with 512ram
running win2k server. It is running Interscan Viruswall on port 25 and then
Imail downstream. It also handles our incoming VPN connections and is our
FTP server to the world(very low FTP usage). With the current usage, it
runs anywhere from 0 to 10% cpu with occasional runs up to nearly 100% for a
few moments when someone sends a huge attachment intersystem.

We've had three cases when we have been hit by a new virus(netsky & mydoom
being the worst) before Trend had a solution for them so we are taking steps
to reduce our exposure with attachment blocking using ASSP. We plan on
placing ASSP between Interscan and Imail. Interscan will kill all viruses
it knows of and ASSP will be configured to block known dangerous
attachments(not .zip tho) that get through. The spam management in ASSP is
a bonus and it catches 98%+ of the spam on the test machine where Imail only
catches ~75%, without the DNSBL function and has so many false positives as
to be useless without major time spent tuning the phrase and url blacklists.

These numbers are very rough no hard numbers to back it up, just using what
I remember ottomh.

So far, very happy with Imail, somewhat happy with Interscan(no tunability
without many $ for plugins but has been a solid program), and very happy
with ASSP(too soon to tell too much yet).

If I had it to do all over again, would go with Imail, Declude, and Fprot.
I'd save some $ and get better interoperability(50 word alert) and more
control.
