I have checked the archives and cannot find an answer to this issue. I am having trouble sending to AOL and AOL explains that they are doing a reverse DNS check on the first "Received:" header (the one closest to the Subject header).
That's backwards.
The first Received: header (the one they would look at) is the one at the top (furthest away from the Subject: header).
So it seems that to send to AOL I would need to suppress this first "Received :" header or have a reverse DNS entry for each of my e-mail clients. Is there a way to suppress the "Received:" header with my e-mail client's hostname and IP?
No. That isn't the problem -- you'll need to keep looking. Your reverse DNS (for 216.15.92.3) is fine. Are they sending a bounce message? Remember, their SMTP greeting (which you'll see in your log file) has always mentioned reverse DNS, whether or not you have reverse DNS set up properly.
