We have been running Imail for over 5 years. We are presently running version 6.0x on a Windows NT Box. We are using MSSQL 6.5 as the External Database. It is obvious that we need to upgrade the hardware and the software. We have about 2000 users. We feel this is a good time to re-evaluate some of our configuration. We are running both Declude Junkmail and antivirus.
Here are my questions: 1) We are debating about converting from an external database to using the Imail registry. What are the opinions of others about the external db vs the registry? (We would upgrade to SQL 2000 on a separate machine - we will be running MSSQL anyway). 2) I know this has been mentioned before but do most still believe that using Raid 1 is better than using Raid 5. We have been using Raid 5 on the old server and it has performed fine. Thanks for the advice.
