OK, fine.  I'm just telling him what I've found in every smtpd32.acc file
that I've ever looked at.  I treat those 12 mystery bytes as a "signature".
Since Ipswitch refuses to provide it's customers with either a utility to
manage the access list or an API then we are forced to write our own.  Mine
works quite nicely.  If it breaks I won't call Ipswitch about it.  They
don't do a very good job of addressing the bugs in their own software so I
certainly wouldn't expect them to fix mine.

I beg to differ.

It's those 12 byte that are "always the same" that cause the problem.  Why
are they always the same?  What is always the same on your server, that
might be different on someone else's server?  Do you think IMail really
included 12 bytes that never change?

That's why we don't touch those access files.  Until/unless Ipswitch
documents the format, we don't feel it is safe to alter those files.
