The volume is increasing, as more and more virus/worms are released, almost on a daily basis, and infecting unprotected machines at an ever increasing rate. These infections are converting the machines into open proxies, and by the time the blacklists get them blocked, the spammers have moved on to the newer infected machines. It seems to be a really uphill battle for us.
My firewalls are getting an exponential increase in penetration attempts by these infected machines trying to find an IP from which to download the payload that will convert them into an open proxy for the spammers. Add this to the nearly non-responsiveness of the major ISPs who seem to be dedicated to ignoring the problem, and the burden on us becomes that much greater. ====================================== We can get rid of spam on your domain! , Anti-spam solutions http://www.clickdoug.com/mailfilter.cfm For hosting solutions http://www.clickdoug.com ====================================== ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mr Gregory DeClue" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 10:32 PM Subject: [IMail Forum] Spam Problem on the Increase : Has anyone else noticed a volume increase in spam mail : lately, it seems that in the last 2 days the amount of : spam mail hitting my system as doubled, I have ensure : no changes have been made on my server, open relay : etc.., I have run my logs and am not showing any of MY : Ip addresses as the majority senders.
