Either way I need an answer for our MD before the software is purchased so could someone help me out with either "it can't be done" or "Sure, you can do the first part easily but the second is impossible" type answers (Id' prefer the first but am expecting the second).
We are considering purchase of IMail to replace out Eudora Worldmail, I have 2 questions.
1) Can the IMail server append a standard disclaimer to the bottom of every outgoing mail whether sent via webmail or just from the users desktop Outlook Express to the effect that the mail has originated from our company @ our address and to stop any further mails click here.
2) if the 'click here' part of the disclaimer is a mail to a non-confirmed opt-in list on our server can all outgoing mails be 'washed' against that list so that if the mail is to 100 people and 2 of them are on the 'do-not-send' list then it will be delivered to the remaining 98 people and not the 2 on the list or will it stop the entire mail from being delivered to anyone if even one of the recipients matches?
And to preempt the questions no we are not Spammers, we are just trying to see if this server can comply with the new Australian email laws which seem to require that EVERY commercial mail from a company have a working 'unsubscribe' function - not just bulk email. (i.e. if I [the publisher] send you [a current advertiser] a message that we're having a special in one of our magazines that message is commercial and therefore must contain 'opt-out' information under the new Australian laws.
