I just updated our server to 8.10/HF2 today. IMAP reads and lookups are about the same, but deletes are much slower. We mostly use Mozilla and Thunderbird, which are set to "delete messages to trash". So internally with IMAP deleting a message is probably a two step process -- copy it to the trash folder, then delete it from the source folder. Still, with 8.05/HF2, this was a split-second operation. With 8.10/HF2, it takes 3-5 seconds.
I believe I have pretty much confirmed that the problem is with moving messages from one IMAP folder to another. When I configure Mozilla mail to either remove messages immedately or flag them as deleted, there is no slowdown. Only when the messages have to first be moved to the trash folder is there an issue.
My question is whether is an issue that ipswitch is working on, or if I need to learn to live with it.
