If I were you I'd keep the paths the same as they are at the moment. I don't think not having the 'true' domains path set to %IMAILROOT% will cause a problem? Not sure though... I think that all Imail looks for at this location are the Users/Alias folders etc, the same as you'd find inside any of the other secondary domain paths. > While the > iMail Admin GUI temptingly provides a way to change the > Primary Host name and its path, (IMail > Administrator->localhost->General tab) am I setting myself up > for a disaster if the primary host doesn't reside at C:\IMail? I don't know what KB's you've read, but if it were me and I understand correctly what you're trying to do I'd change these settings in the registry. I don't think swapping a virtual domain/secondary with a 'true'/primary domain is the same as changing the official host name of the Imail server - in which case I wouldn't change the settings under Imail-> Administrator->localhost->General - as the path here (Top Dir) should definitely not change unless you were re-locating you entire Imail installation. In the registry take a look at HKLM>Software>Ipswitch>Imail>Domains - you'll see IP addresses or $virtual### and then domain name branches. These will either contain an 'Address' key or an 'Official' key - these just have to correspond with each other for things to work. Our of curiosity what are you trying to achieve by making these changes?
