I am having some problems with the partition where the Imail and the spool folders are located (My first guess is that this is due to the high I/O disk activity of Imail). The operative system has set the "Dirty Bit", so at boot time chkdsk /f will be executed. Because this is a mission critical server that is expected to be online 24 hours a day, I cannot allow chkdsk to be run. That would require several hours of downtime.
Does somebody know some type of SCANDISK utility (or equivalent) that can do the same job as CHKDSK, but while the operating system is in full operation? I am running Imail 8.01 in Windows 2000 server. In a Dell Poweredge 2450 with a Raid 5 controller.
