The port has been set... perhaps you tried to connect  duriing one of  my
many reboots!

Don't guess. Follow my advice: enter your E-mail address in the "Mail Test" tool at http://www.DNSreport.com . It will show you exactly where other mailservers will go, and will show you whether or not they can connect. You can run it at a time that you know that your mailserver is not down.


Ive stopped rebooting... and my telnet says Imail server there.

You need to telnet to port 25 on your IMail server from a server that is outside your network (to account for firewall issues, accidentally blacklisting external IPs, network connectivity issues, etc.).
