Thanks. Very helpfull.. It led me to call my ISP who obviously had
configured my port 25 closed even though they knew I needed it.

Don't guess.  Follow my advice:  enter your E-mail address in the "Mail
Test" tool at http://www.DNSreport.com .  It will show you exactly where
other mailservers will go, and will show you whether or not they can
connect.  You can run it at a time that you know that your mailserver is
not down.

You need to telnet to port 25 on your IMail server from a server that is
outside your network (to account for firewall issues, accidentally
blacklisting external IPs, network connectivity issues, etc.).
