Normalization does not only mean IMail normalizes the words in the mail to be checked, but also in your phrase list. If you have "n.et" in your phrase list, "net" is caught as well. Learned that the hard way as well. It would be better if you could set it to normalize the words in the eMail only, because I have *lots* of such phrases there, which are a very good spam indicator (so I don't want to give them up).
