Running IMail 8.05 with HF3.
One of our virtually hosted customers maintains a list on our IMail server:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Under the IMail 'List Administration' for this list, the:
'Reply to List'
attribute item is checked, so that replies to list messages go back to the list and
not to the individual who originated the message.
Some members of the list are complaining that their replies to list messages are being
returned to them marked as undeliverable. Since we are a member of this list, we
checked the message header for the message we received, and everything looks okay as
follows (abbreviated headers below):
Received: from fastwave.net [207.212.80.136] by ns3.fastwave.net
with ESMTP
(SMTPD32-8.05) id A1D584B01CC; Mon, 10 May 2004 17:44:05 -0700
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Date: Mon, 10 May 2004 17:46:27 -0700
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: [List Name] Subject Desctription
Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
However, checking the header for other list members reveals the following:
Received: from fastwave.net [207.212.80.136] by ns3.fastwave.net
with ESMTP
(SMTPD32-8.05) id A1D584B01CC; Mon, 10 May 2004 17:44:05 -0700
Message-id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Date: Mon, 10 May 2004 17:46:27 -0700
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: [List Name] Subject Description
Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Reply-to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Note the difference in the 'Reply-to:' lines for both headers. The first header has
the correct 'Reply-to:' address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) while the second header is
addressed to the official IMail Server Host Name ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). The domain
'fastwave.net' has no lists defined (which explains why members replies are being
returned)!
Does anyone know what is happening here? Is this a bug? Is there a workaround for
this?
Thanks in advance,
Kim
