As an additional side note to my earlier post I am receiving in the log a "reconnect" or "retrying service" as a result of using an IP for my BL.
BLACKLIST: connecting to service (service name)
BLACKLIST: retrying service (service name)
BLACKLIST: failed to connect to service (service name)
