Please excuse the late post regarding your issue. I would like to make available an Imail Access Control List file that contains about 130,000 IP's that we are seeing doing massive dictionary attacks.
if it's a plain txt file, zip it up and send it to me.
My advanced MXs already harvest PTR-less IPs and Class C's that send X number of msgs to unknown users. Above X, the IP or Class C is blacklisted.
btw, I really doubt that the now-common high %age of mgs to unknown recipients is address harvesting/dictionary attacks.
Rather, I think spammers are blindly hosing out all the crap they can to all the domains/MXs and whatever IPs are listening on port 25 that they can find.
