I have seen some mighty strange things from HP NICs. We have 6 HP computers running on our network, 5 with HP NICs, one with a 3COM NIC. All other machines are Dells.
Last winter all the HP machines with HP NICs suddenly disconnected from the network and wouldn't reconnect. The one with the 3COM NIC and the Dells ran just fine. I had to reboot the file server before they would reconnect. Still no idea why. I've been replacing the NICs on those HP machines as I can. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lukas Kaminski [MDS Internet]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, August 18, 2004 9:36 AM Subject: [IMail Forum] NIC shutdown > I'm in the process of moving IMail v8.05 HF3 from NT4 machine to an HP > ProLiant ML330 G3 Server running WIN2K (fully updated).
