There are Driver updates available for these cards.

Try going to HP.COM and then support and typing NC7760 and download drivers.

You'll find updated drivers there.  (known problem with Heavy usage TCP/IP
and that card (was fixed approx. July, 2004).

(make sure to read all the FAK's first) (it can SOMETIMES change your LAN
card from #1 to #2.

I have seen some mighty strange things from HP NICs. We have 6 HP computers
running on our network, 5 with HP NICs, one with a 3COM NIC. All other
machines are Dells.

Last winter all the HP machines with HP NICs suddenly disconnected from the
network and wouldn't reconnect. The one with the 3COM NIC and the Dells ran
just fine. I had to reboot the file server before they would reconnect.
Still no idea why. I've been replacing the NICs on those HP machines as I
can.
