You  can  associate more than one IP address with the same FQHN but then
resolvers  will randomly pick one or the other which is useful if you're
trying to do load balancing but I don't think that's what you want.

I'm  not  clear  on exactly what you and/or your users expectations are.
How  frequently  are you going to be syncing the two e-mail data stores?
Are you planning on mirroring across a WAN?
