Best practice for port 587 is that all msg submissions require SMTP AUTH (ie, no domains are local to the MTA, all domains are effectively relay domains. In Imail terms, "no mail relay").
actually, Imail "no mail relay" is not the same as I was describing, since Imail accepts mail for local domains with no AUTH.
