In april 28, 2004, I asked why Ipswitch removed the outbound rules tab. I tried to look for the link to the answer in the archives, so you can see first hand the entire thread. But it seems that the files for that date are gone in the archive.

Any way, here is the answer given by Ipswitch.

“We removed the tab because it was misleading as outbound rules aren't loaded by virtual domain.  Outbound rules for virtual domains are inherited from the primary domain.

Tripp”

So… don’t bet they are going to work via virtual domains, unless you place them in the primary domain.

Interesting.  I just checked and they Outbound rules are working again, not sure why they stopped.

I still don't have the Outbound Rules Tab (no surprise there), but at least the rules are being processed.

Thanks...

There is no problem with your Imail.

Version  8.11 Ipswitch removed that option from IMAIL

-IAdmin will no longer display the outbound rules tab for
  IPless virtual hosts.”

See http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20040503-DM01.htm

I miss them… too. bye

Subject: [IMail Forum] Outbound Rules Tab Gone

Hi All

I've got a bit of a strange one.

Last night my Outbound Rules tab disappeared for all of my virtual hosts.  I still have one for the default host.

My outbound rules have stopped working as well even though orules.ima exists.  Restarting the server makes no difference.

I'm running Imail Professional 8.12

Thanks...
