So if you think nslookup is "broken", let us know why. If you think www.dnsstuff.com -- probably the most trusted DNS site on the Internet -- is not completely "trustable", say why. And before you say it, "the DNS report portion misleads people into thinking small problems are big problems" is not an issue of trust.
nslookup is deprecated, what more is there to say about it? dig should be used for dns diagnostics, IMO
That doesn't mean people will stop using nslookup. It also doesn't mean people will stop using websites that insert their own ideas on certain values.
I think some of the websites that do DNS related things have a lot of value. As do some other userfriendly gui apps (i.e. some by Men & Mice).
However, one should read the RFC's and some of the books on DNS to understand more about it rather than just taking what some program or website tells you. They should probably learn to use dig as well.
