Unless you're doing store and forward for someone in central FL...<grin>.
Then you might want to add an extra day or two so they can get power back to
their offices...over a "Holiday" weekend to boot.

We had several calls and upped our retries to cover 96 hours, though it
looks like most everyone was back up in 48.

A secondary MX should queue the messages to be delivered to the primary MX
for at least 24 hours but not more than 48 hours, in general terms.

This also is true for any message your server handles.

You should configure the SMTP and Queue Manager so that the "retry" time
follows those guidelines. I believe there is a RFC that talks about this.
