Many, many people consider zone transfers to be a security risk.
duh, that's why I mentioned it.
Until you state otherwise, I still am assuming that you are referring to the generic implied risk involved with zone transfers.
There are two risks, one real, and one that has been essentially existent since sophisticated IP scanners have been available. You guessed wrong that I was talking about the risk that isn't really a risk anymore.
You are indeed correct that I now have no clue as to what you are talking about.
how can that be? you are a self-proclaimed "DNS expert"?
But if I have no clue, then about 99% of the people on this list have no clue, either.
They don't claim to be DNS experts.
Take your advice and "data sensitivity" and self-proclaimed DNS expertise and shove it.
I'm a bit in the dark here, too -- where should I shove it?
your call, it's a Free Country. anywhere but in the direction of my posts on this list.
FYI, I don't proclaim to be an expert at DNS.
I do proclaim to have a very strong background in DNS, however
A rose is a rose.
As for nslookup, it still provides completely accurate results for me.
I gave you the ancient, widely known broken aspect in an earlier thread here.
