Matti,

Thanks for the assist a while back. You attempted to help me get IIS 5 mail
forms to work with my settings for iMail, version 7.15, No Mail Relay and
Check Valid User. We host mail and web for several small businesses.
Because several of them are on DHCP DSL, we cannot authenticate on IP
addresses. When they insert forms in their web pages using method="post"
the mail is never delivered.

I have installed iMail on a practice server and tried the alternatives
suggested and none work properly.

IIS does have a built-in mail server, and it will forward mail from forms to
iMail -- as long as No Mail Relay is not checked. As soon as I change that
(and use Check Valid User for authentication) mail ceases to pass. The log
from iMail looks like:

20040912 211927 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (02C90834) [(my server's IP address)]
mail from: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
20040912 211927 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (02C90834) [(my server's IP address)]
rcpt to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
20040912 211927 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (02C90834) [(my server's IP address)]
ERR (mail.mydomain.com) invalid user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I have installed two CGI-bin scripts that will process web forms, however, I
cannot find a way to pass a password to the mail server and they generate
similar error messages.

How do I authenticate users and still have forms work on web pages?

Thanks again.

 -Toby
