You clearly have made a choice to loose customers in favor of
making more from a select group of your customer base that goes along with
your new bloatware package. I'm sure that you have had some actuaries
figure the difference from receiving $400 for a subscription and $4,000 for an
upgrade, and you figure that you can do even better that way. That
choice that you are making is also a choice to take advantage of your
customers that have invested heavily into their environment. If this is
how you treat your customers, i.e. only the minority that wants to spend 10
times more matters to you, then you can shove it!
To try to sell this
to us as a "solution that the market has been clamoring for" is the type of
marketing speak that might work in the boardroom, but in real life, people
really hate those that will lie to your face.
I just want a damn mail
server with Webmail, and I'm not clamoring to pay another $4,000 plus some
unknown subscription fee to keep what I have. It's not just about the
price either, it's that I don't need all the extra garbage, and I don't want
to spend a dime more for it because I only ever wanted something that just
simply works right.
